Commissioning a piece of furniture is an exciting and gratifying experience and shows a desire to get away from the “disposable” mind-set of modern life to create something lasting.  Even if you don’t yet have a firm idea of what you want together we can create a design which suits your needs precisely.

First we’ll meet to discuss what purpose the piece will serve. The choice of woods, your stylistic preferences, budget and any other considerations you might have.

After this I will work through initial sketches to a full design proposal.  I will present these drawings and sometimes a scale model for your comments and suggestions which are useful and important to me.  I will also present a first costing and estimated timescale (usually about 4 - 6 months from commissioning).  Once you are happy with the design and have paid a deposit of 40% the process of making can begin.

I will keep you informed of progress and you are most welcome to visit the workshop to see your furniture being made.

Final payment is due on delivery when I will advise you on how to care for your new furniture.
